What should I do if I think my child has special educational needs (SEN)?
If you have any concerns about your child’s learning, progress or behavioural needs, your first point of contact is with the class teacher. The school operates an open door policy and teachers are available to make appointments by either – talking to them before registration, after school, e-mail or telephoning the school secretary. The teacher with talk you through any of the questions you have. It sometimes helps to write down questions so that all points are covered in the conversation. Together the next steps can be talked through and agreed.
If necessary further appointments can be made and a meeting with the SENDCO can be arranged to agree with further strategies, advice or support.
