What will the school do after I have raised my concerns?
At this point, depending on the outcome of conversations your child may be:
- Observed and further information gathered by the class teacher. The findings of which will be discussed and possible further action taken.
- Placed on the SEND register and an agreed course of action will be taken by the school and a child support plan (similar to an IEP) and targets with a time limit written in agreement with the parent and with input from the child. The targets will be reviewed termly and assessed to see if they have been met. This could mean further action is needed with new targets or your child will have met their targets and be taken off the register
- An outside agency with a professional may also be asked to offer advice on provision and strategies to help support your child. Consent will have to be given by the parent/carer for this to happen. (See Outside Agencies involved with the school).
